Home Health

Our home health office provides a variety of services to the elderly and disabled, who have physical health problems, such as cardiovascular and blood circulation problems, diabetes, wound care, poor mobility or use of limbs, and other diagnoses requiring medical intervention.  These services are provided in the home, with nurses, therapists, and nurse aides coming to the home.  Home health care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances, including HMOs.  The service has to be determined to be medically necessary by your primary care physician.  Home health services are medical services, such as you would receive in a hospital or a nursing home, if the individual receiving the services is able to function on their own, or with the help of family members, without the need for 24 hour nursing care.  Home health staff coming into the home provide the daily medical care that you need.  Physician services are provided by your primary care physician in the medical clinic or hospital.  Many people who benefit from home health services have recently had surgery, and the home health service allows that person to return home for recovery rather than staying in the hospital or going to a nursing home.
